Some people just won’t listen—no matter how much truth you bring or how much grace you give. You can pray, counsel, and correct with love, but still face resistance. Pride, pain, or hardened hearts can keep a person from receiving the very healing they need.

Jesus gives a clear model for confrontation that escalates in grace: first private correction, then accountability through witnesses, and finally, bringing it before the church. But if even that doesn’t lead to repentance, He gives us a hard but freeing truth—there comes a time to release control.

Treat them as a pagan or tax collector. Not with hatred—but with holy boundaries. You don’t enable or empower their rebellion, but you also don’t stop loving them. You step back, not out of bitterness, but out of obedience. You trust God to do what only He can do.

Real leadership sometimes looks like letting go. Correction isn’t about control—it’s about clarity. You’ve done your part; now it’s in God’s hands.
