Intelligent Intoxication

When You Don’t Get Equal Air Time

Listen Later

When we don’t get “equal air time” or feel seen or heard, we may feel excluded, rejected, or left out.

I invite you to consider these questions:

  • When someone else gets “more time” than you do, how do you tend to respond? Do you tend to:
    • fight for equal air time?
  • run away from the situation because it feels too stressful?
  • shut down and feel incapable of speaking up?
  • tip into people-pleasing in an attempt to “earn” your right to be seen or heard?
  • When someone else gets more attention or more time than you do, what you make it mean about you?
  • What do you make it mean about them?
  •
