Centered on Psalm 42—and its continuation in Psalm 43—they explore what it looks like to bring your deepest discouragement, doubt, and longing before God.

Together, they unpack the tension of feeling distant from God while still choosing to hope in Him, highlighting the repeated refrain: “Why, my soul, are you downcast?” This conversation leans into the reality that faith isn’t always steady or strong—it can be weary, emotional, and searching. Yet even in the middle of lament, there is an intentional turning toward truth. Through this discussion, they invite listeners to consider how they talk to their own soul in difficult seasons, and what it looks like to fight for hope when God feels far away.
