Whence Came You? - Freemasonry discussed and Masonic research for today's Freemason

This week we ask just what it takes for you to commit to going back to Lodge. Greg not applies some tough filters to his lodge experience. Then, Brother Randy Sanders asks, "When's the last time you had a festive board for the heck of it?" He's got some great recommendations and I'll give you some of my own personal insights on the festive board event and what it brings to the Masonic experience. Finally, we'll ask the big question, 'Does all that memory work really ever pay off--making a good man better?" We'll hear from a Ph.D. on understanding the neuroscience of repetition and what some Brothers take away from this repetition and memorization of ritual work. All this and more. Stay tuned!

This week, we take a look at death. What are some of the oldest death rituals we have in the archaeological record? What happens when you die, and you don't follow a particular religion? We're all familiar with what funerals look like in the Western world, but what do they look like everywhere else? And finally, what is a Masonic funeral service? And why do we have them? All this and a little bit more in this reflective episode of the Whence Came You? Podcast-- stay tuned!

This week, we discuss a new technology for time. How does time affect our minds, and how do our minds affect how we live? Then, we're going to hear from Illustrious Brother Steven L. Harrison in an all-new Masonic Minute--what exactly was the Star and Garter? Here's a clue, it's not the Star-Spangled Banner, as many passively assume. Then, we'll hear some interesting facts about that great, treasonous "Brother," Benedict Arnold. In the end, we'll wrap it up with an article about breaking the paradigms of the Knights Templar, when a Past Eminent Commander gives his thoughts about the fading popularity of KT Drill Teams and how we could possibly save the organization by implementing a few changes. All this and more, stay tuned!

This week we finish up an article we started a few weeks ago about the Great Pyramid and initiation. It asks the question we all want to know, "Does Masonry hold the answers to life's problems?" Then we hear a pitch for a brand new fraternity, in 1928--the Fraternity of Osiris, Temple of Memphis. What could this new fraternity offer America in the heartland of Kansas City? Money, wealth, health? We'll wrap it up with a longstanding controversy of Shakespeare--Was he a Freemason? All this and more, stay tuned for this special episode, No. 500!
