Healthy Boundaries: Loving Someone Without Losing Yourself🌐 ONEJILLIAN.COM.AU📖 RELATED BOOK — *The First Six Months of Dating*https://onejillian.com.au/the-first-6-monthsBoundaries are especially important during the early stages of dating, when two people are learning about each other's expectations, values, communication styles, and needs.Loving someone does not mean giving up who you are.In this episode of **Wednesday Love Guide**, Jillian talks about healthy boundaries and why having boundaries is an important part of creating a respectful and balanced relationship.Boundaries are not walls designed to keep people out. They are a way of communicating what you are comfortable with, what you need, what you value, and what you are not willing to accept.Sometimes, when we care deeply about someone, we can start compromising too much. We may ignore our own needs, stay quiet when something hurts us, constantly make excuses for behaviour, or become afraid that saying no will cause the relationship to end.But love should not require you to abandon yourself.Healthy boundaries allow two people to remain individuals while building a relationship together. They create space for honesty, respect, personal time, emotional needs, friendships, privacy, and individuality.Jillian also explores the difference between setting a boundary and trying to control another person. A boundary is about what you will do to protect your own wellbeing and values; it is not about forcing someone else to behave exactly as you want.Because you can love someone deeply and still say no.You can care about someone and still have limits. You can be committed to a relationship without losing yourself inside it.🎙️ **LISTEN TO THE PODCAST**Join Jillian every Wednesday for **Wednesday Love Guide**, where we have honest conversations about dating, love, communication, relationships, boundaries, emotional intimacy, self-worth, and modern relationships.Follow **When Jillian Speaks** on your favourite podcast platform and continue the conversation beyond this episode.💬 **JOIN THE CONVERSATION**Have you ever compromised so much in a relationship that you started to lose yourself? What boundary have you learned to protect as you have grown?Share your thoughts in the comments.**Wednesday Love Guide**Love. Emotional Intimacy: Building a Connection That Lasts Beyond Attraction
🌐 ONEJILLIAN.COM.AU
📖 RELATED BOOK — *The First Six Months of Dating*
https://onejillian.com.au/the-first-6-months
If you're navigating the early stages of dating and want to understand why the beginning of a relationship matters, explore Jillian's book.
________
Attraction can bring two people together, but emotional intimacy is what can help create a deeper and more meaningful connection.
In this episode of **Wednesday Love Guide**, Jillian talks about emotional intimacy and why a lasting relationship requires more than physical attraction or chemistry.
Emotional intimacy is built through honest conversations, vulnerability, trust, understanding, emotional safety, consistency, and the willingness to truly know and be known by another person.
It is about being able to talk about your feelings, fears, hopes, experiences, and expectations without feeling like you have to hide parts of yourself to keep someone interested.
Sometimes, two people can have strong chemistry but still feel emotionally disconnected. They may spend time together, communicate regularly, and enjoy each other's company, yet never move beyond the surface.
Building emotional intimacy takes time. It develops through the small moments — listening when your partner speaks, remembering what matters to them, showing up when things are difficult, being honest about how you feel, and creating a relationship where both people feel seen and valued.
Because attraction may get your attention, but emotional intimacy helps you understand whether there is something deeper to build.
The first six months can reveal important things about communication, consistency, compatibility, emotional availability, expectations, and the kind of connection you may be building.

One of the most painful experiences is caring about someone who cannot fully choose you.
Sometimes there are feelings.
Sometimes there is connection.
Sometimes there is hope.
But hope alone cannot create a healthy relationship.
In this episode, Jillian talks about the difficult reality of being left uncertain, feeling like an option and waiting for someone to make a decision they may never make.
Sometimes the hardest thing is accepting that someone may care about you and still not be capable of giving you what you deserve.
Inspired by Pieces I Learned to Carry, this episode is about acceptance, self-worth and learning when hope has become something that keeps you hurting.

Before opening your heart to someone new, have you taken the time to heal from what happened before?
In this episode of Dating 101: The Journey to Finding the Right Person, Jillian explores why healing is an important step before entering another relationship. Heartbreak, betrayal, rejection, and painful experiences can influence the way we trust, communicate, and allow ourselves to be loved.
This episode explores how unresolved wounds can follow us into new relationships, the difference between wisdom and fear, and why healing is not about forgetting the past — it is about understanding it and growing from it.
You do not need to be perfect before love finds you. But you deserve to enter a new relationship as someone who knows their worth, understands their needs, and chooses love from a place of strength rather than pain.

Trust is one of the most important foundations of a healthy relationship. Without it, even strong feelings can become difficult to sustain.
In this episode of Wednesday Love Guide, Jillian talks about what it really means to build trust in a relationship — and why trust is not created through words alone.
Trust develops through consistency, honesty, transparency, reliability, respect, and the ability to follow through on what you say. It grows when someone feels that they can depend on you, communicate openly with you, and feel emotionally safe around you.
But trust can also be fragile.
One lie, broken promise, repeated inconsistency, secrecy, or betrayal can change the way someone sees the relationship. And when trust is damaged, saying "trust me" is rarely enough. Rebuilding it requires patience, accountability, changed behaviour, and time.
Jillian also explores the difference between healthy trust and blind trust. Loving someone does not mean ignoring your instincts or accepting behaviour that repeatedly makes you question where you stand.
A healthy relationship needs two people who are willing to create trust together.
Because trust is not something you simply ask someone to give you. It is something you earn through your actions, protect through your choices, and maintain through consistency.
