Where Are You From? episodes

  • I Create Myself

    Well hey again already huh!

    Hey!

    Hey!

Here I am talking about the abstract state of mind so that students can understand just how it is that they can access that pure or purely creative or very, very creative and artistic and limitless and unhindered or unrestrained part or area of their own imagination or of their own brains while I am preparing to teach one class here and then one class or one experience or presentation there!

    Hahaha!

I do certainly, certainly have myself a whole lot of places that I am supposed to be and that is such an honor, like the Vista Center for Education in Moorhead, and the Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Center for Creativity in downtown Fargo, and the Enrichment Center within the North Dakota Autism Center in West Fargo, North Dakota!

Oh it is such an honor to be so needed and to be so, so totally, totally necessary!

    Haha!

    It is!

    It is!

And I do not take one moments for granted!

Not a one! (Music by Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio!) https://youtu.be/BiOWgH7AQ2I

  • I Didn’t Even Get To About Twelve of My Questions

    Hey there!

    And hey!

Y’know sometimes you do have the spotlight or you do have the attention of an audience and then sometimes you don’t!

That is the way that things do go, and while Heather Zinger and I were being interviewed on Prairie Public’s Main Street radio program we did have the attention of a wonderful, wonderful audience!

    We did!

It was the people of Fargo-Moorhead and everyone who it was who was listening or who could have been listening online!

    Hahaha!

    Wow!

    Wow!

I do know that I did have such an excellent, excellent time beginning to discuss the Where Are You From? web series and the companion podcast as well as the symptoms of autism spectrum disorder that I do healthily and do happily live with, and have successfully integrated into my own lifestyle and identity, and I did have a fabulous, fabulous and quite delightful experience getting to know host Ashley Thornberg and the entire creative and kind production team or staff there at the studio!

    Hahaha!

Here I am certain that Heather and I will be back there once again very, very soon to answer many, many, many more questions and to satisfy the curiosities of so, so many listeners and audience members and fans in the future!

    I am!

  • We All Have a Sort of Training

    Hey there!

We are all people aren’t we?

We are women and men and children and persons or individuals, and we are human beings!

    We are!

We do care about one another, and some of us do care a lot!

Some of us who are like that, who do care so, so much are sometimes labeled “codependent” and some of us do need to relinquish or to release our holds or our grips on just how much we may think we are suppose to do something about something for someone!

Before departing and while departing That’s the Dream Farm in Glyndon, Minnesota Heather Zinger and I did have a discussion about codependency and about how much we really, really ought to care for other people and how much it is that we ought to care for ourselves!

On some occasions that is a whole lot, and on other occasions it is supposed to be a little bit!

Only you yourself can say for certain how much it is that you ought to care or or how much it is that you ought to care about something, so here is leaving it all up to you okay!

Here is leaving it all up to you!

  • Keep Going Until You Find What You Need

    Hey!

    Hey!

Not to be too corny or not to bend your ear too, too much here but sometimes your mental health journey or quest or path will look a whole lot like a corn field or a corn maze or labyrinth that you simply cannot find your own way through or out of!

    Oh no!

    Oh no!

At That’s the Dream Farm in Glyndon, Minnesota Heather Zinger and I did get ourselves a little lost a little bit both during our own walk through rows and rows and rows of stalks of corn and during our own neurodivergent or during our own neuroatypical walks or lives!

    Golly!

    Golly!

For how long was it that were we lost amid those stalks and for how long did we wander or did we traipse back and forth between therapeutic and pharmaceutical, and professional or clinical treatment and treatments and alternatives as we did learn to manage our own individual symptoms and make our lives much, much more ordered?

    Oh!

    Oh!

  • That Actually Does Help Calm Me Down

    Hey!

Alright, alright I do know that this episode of Where Are You From? is debuting or is arriving a little early but why not huh!

Why not show up a little early here and there or sometimes right!

Doing so can be a welcome surprise or an unintended or unexpected gift or treasure or present!

In this episode Heather Zinger and I do discuss a bit of her own mental health journey or her own story of neurodiversty or of being atypical while taking a moment to deeply, deeply center ourselves and relax in a forested “room” or green, green and leafy enclosed and serene, serene area or spot at That’s the Dream Farm in Glyndon, Minnesota!

Heather did have so much that she did have to express and share, and she did share or she did explain or talk about so, so much that you really, really ought to know about and consider y’know!

  • That Probably Makes You Way More Sane Than Most People

    Hey!

So here Heather Zinger and I did head ourselves out to That’s the Dream Farm in Glyndon, Minnesota to have a discussion about goals and about philosophies and about so, so much more and we were totally, totally swept up or we were immersed in the healthy and in the healing and in the connective, connective and relational atmosphere of the facility there and of the whole area!

There were friendly guides and there were respectful horses, and there were curious cats and hopping or jumping toads and birds and we were talking to them all and we were talking to each other and we were coming to understand and to fathom so very, very much more out there!

    We were!

    We were!

    Hahaha!

    Oh!

    Oh!

    Oh see for yourself today!

  • Let's Bring On the Friendships

    Hey hey!

Without any further or necessary delay here is the first episode of the third season of the web series Where Are You From? for you!

    Haha!

This episode did take a wee, wee bit longer to put together because honestly there was just so much to look at and to pay attention to and to trim down and to assemble or to fit together y’know!

I do think that it is so, so amazing to see that I do fit together with so many people after I had been informed that that might not be a part of my own future with the challenges that I was supposed to be facing living with Asperger syndrome and autism spectrum disorder!

    I do!

    I do!

  • There's All of Us Working Together

    Hello there!

    And hey!

While Heather Zinger and I do prepare to visit That’s the Dream Farm in Glyndon, Minnesota for the third season of Where Are You From? I had thought that I ought to take a moment and take a look at my own origins and just how far it is that I have come in such a short time at the end of this current season!

    Yes!

    Yes!

    I ought to!

Here in this season finale episode I do mention our grandfather Arch Berdahl and then his son David Berdahl and then myself, not to mention Heather and Jamie Holding Eagle and Paul Erdmann and so on!

    Hahaha!

    Families are supposed to grow!

That is the nature of them, and my own family has grown and grown and grown and is now probably visible from the upper atmosphere huh!

    Haha!

How big is your own family?

It is pretty dang huge or big or extended?

I do hope that it is y’know!

    I do! https://youtu.be/lrN2XJ4MrZk

  • We Are Not Manufactured

    What!

Did you think that Heather Zinger and I were done having a little chat in Lindenwood Park in Fargo, North Dakota about neurodiversity and mental health and the like?

    No way man!

    No way!

We did move our conversation or we did move our chat to or towards the bridge!

    We did!

And we also did welcome the opinions and the beliefs and the thoughts of really enlightened and really, really eloquent passersby!

    We did!

    We did!

I did equate love or sharing love to owning a restaurant!

    Huh.

Was I supposed to do that?

I have no idea to only tell you the truth but since I did do so it probably all was meant to be right!

Everything does appear to be meant to be a lot of the time doesn’t it!

Everything does appear to be meant to be! https://youtu.be/TXPF9M0niNk
