If you or someone you know has been deeply troubled by these recent tragedies and are in need of a professional to talk to, please contact our WELS Counseling service: Christian Family Solutions.
There are many questions surrounding the horrific incident in Uvalde, Texas, but one thing is for sure: sinful people still do sinful things. It has been that way since the fall into sin.
Some have asked: Where is God in all of this? Why isn't He doing something about it? The temptation may be to think that if God is a loving God then, since evil things are still happening, He must be powerless to stop evil. Or, the opposite side of the temptation may be that since God is all-powerful and He isn't stopping this, then He must bot be loving.
Neither of those are true. God cares and is personally involved in the lives of His people.
As we begin our new message series called "Journey," we will see how God stops sinful people from doing more sinful things. How? By spreading the Gospel. The good news about Jesus changes hearts.
We'll begin in Acts chapter 13 and there we will learn how Jesus' amazing power to change hearts resides in the Gospel.
