I'm live from the Hotel Maya in Long Beach, CA and it's one of my happy places. I love the view, the rooms, I love how Ember can walk and play on the beach, being in the harbor near The Queen Mary, I love that it's not in Long Beach proper and that there are NO homeless all around it...I love a lot about it. I love that it's a Doubletree/Hilton property so there's a standard of excellence. 
Where is your happy place? And how often do you get there?

Also, the restaurant, Fuego, adds 20% gratuity to ALL checks, whether you want to tip or not. Is that OK in today's world?

And, can you afford travel and tourism? It's a multi-billion dollar industry, but is it becoming only for the rich?
