Yep – at The Table we like to cover a range of topics. So let’s start with that first one; about finding a good table. I guess that really should say “a good Table”, because I’m talking about us. We have an (almost entirely) settled location from now until the end of December. That’s almost unheard of in our recent history. I’m pleased to let you know that with the exception of one Sundayin October, we’ll be gathering at Creative Manitoba, which is located on the fourth floor of 245 McDermot Avenue. Just a couple of “finding us” details for the uninitiated: if you look up “Creative Manitoba” online, it’ll tell you the location is on the third floor. That’s partly true – their offices are on that floor. However, the gathering spaces are on the fourth floor, so when you get into the elevator or trudge up the stairs, make sure you head for floor number four. We’ll put out some signs (we’re working on getting more made to help with any tricky corners), and are looking forward to being in the same space for a few months in a row.

Now about that dying part…I’ve finally figured out the secret to living forever, and this week I’ll share it with whoever shows up. Yeah…no. What we’ll doing in the Talky Bit is poking around in how an idea like “to live is Christ, to die is gain” can morph into people living like they were already dead, at least when it comes to engaging fully in life here on earth. If I was into zombies I might have called this one something like “How To Not Be a Religious Zombie”. I’m also going to play what I consider an egregiously awful “Christian rock” song from my deep past, and make us all listen to the whole thing. This is going to be AWESOME!
