Rob found his passion for music at a young age in NY and after leaving the air force he started a business of karaoke, but that all changed as more of his customers began requesting him to sing than to DJ.

Rob’s career took off as he became a full time professional vocalist when some high profile performers took notice. Now decades later residing in SW FL, he “has thousands” of songs” in his repertoire.

So what’s next for this in high demand performer? Well, it includes the Caribbean but you’ll have to listen in to get the rest of the story!

Continuing his series on the community for recovery of North Port and its surrounding counties in Florida, Victor talks with the nonprofit, community based, North Port Forward’s Vice Chairman, Carmine Miranda.

Carmine, a musician and community advocate, discusses his journey from growing up in New York, to getting married, having children and a career for 37 years until that infamous day in September 2001.

After that tragedy Carmine faced another one at home - divorce, and after 15 years as a single dad events set him on a new course that brought him to Florida.

Now Carmine has found his new passion, along with his new love that has turned this grass roots movement into a nonprofit that works to bring cities and their citizens together toward positive, constructive community goals.

Sounds like a lofty goal doesn’t it? Well wait till you hear it in his own words of just how it’s working. Carmine’s compassion and civil manner will make you a believer in hope for a better tomorrow!

Victor is back from his road trip and catches up with Julia Cooper at the N.P.A.C. (North Port Art Center).

Poetry often stirs an arrangement of emotions, and so will the story of Julia’s journey.

This thirty-something-year-old, mother of two-life challenges has been monumental from the start. With a dysfunctional family childhood due to alcohol addiction, mental illness, then cancer all the while raising two autistic children at such a young age, one might expect a cynical view of life, right?

Well, listen in, and you’ll meet an inspiring, vibrant, funny, and very dedicated, hardworking mother who found the courage to struggle and overcome those challenges. Julia’s powerful and reflective poetry has become a major driving force as a therapeutic release for that.

Her reading of “Stages of Grief and Nature Too” is a perfect example of why her works are so popular and connect with so many.

Cheryl, a native from Ohio, has settled in to Florida after a lifetime of journeys. A self-proclaimed “busybody who didn’t let the grass grow under feet” has found her true passion in art.

That no-nonsense drive mixed with her compassion for giving took her on a ride with a wide array of creative careers until painting and abstract came together, and there’s plenty of proof in that with this multi-award winner.
