Join Dave and Nanette as they talk with Steven J. Levin, juror of the 11th Biennial National Art Exhibition at the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda, FL. Steven is an atelier-trained classical oil painter working in the realist tradition. He is an Art Renewal Center living master whose work has been featured in group shows in New York, Chicago, Beijing and Barcelona. In their conversation, Steven talks about everything from finding your own voice as an artist, to the "Portrait of Darth Vader" he created for George Lucas. He also worked design and production for the national touring company for such musicals as "Grease, Sound of Music, Fame and others." He said with a laugh that working on 400+ performances on the road over a nine month period is a job for a young man. Bill has hit the ground running in Southwest Florida. His high school students - known as Troupe 0922 - kicked off their season with a production of "Our Town." Next up is the musical "Into the Woods," with Tom Stoppard's "Arcadia" rounding out the year. He predicts that Shakespeare is in the students' future. It's enough to make you want to go back to high school.
