The world of investing is full of advice.
Advice of what stocks you should buy, advice of what investment philosophies you should follow, and just general advice about what you should do with your money.
And oftentimes we follow this advice. Because if it’s coming from an expert, who has a lot more experience than we do, and who has had a lot of success in the past, who are we to question it?
This is generally called “Copy-Cat” investing. Doing exactly as the experts tell us to do.
But what if that way of thinking could be hugely detrimental to the long term success of your portfolio?
What if copying what an expert is doing without the full understanding of why they are doing it could cause you to make huge mistakes when market conditions inevitably change?
In this episode, we make you question everything. We provide the mental models and approaches to thinking, to help you make long term and successful investments, all on your own.
And to do this, we spoke to Raunak Onkar, who is the Research Head and a Fund Manager at PPFAS.

The Metaverse.
You may have heard of the term, you may have watched Mark Zuckerberg’s presentation of this potential new world.
In Mark Zuckerberg’s mind, the Metaverse will be this virtual world, where we strap on a headset, and immerse ourselves within for hours on end.
You may work and have meetings in the Metaverse. You may be able to travel to your favorite destinations or periods of time through the Metaverse. You may exercise and meet your friends on the Metaverse.
If his vision does in fact become a reality with this technology, there’s going to be a paradigm shift in the way we live our lives. Just like how the phone changed everything for us, this new world might do the same.
And whenever there is a paradigm shift at this sort of scale, new businesses, industries and jobs that have never been thought of in the past appear.
What are the industries that may appear in the future? And will this technology really be a huge part of our daily lives?
Well in this episode, we've got you covered. To discuss the Metaverse and more, we spoke to Varun Mayya, who’s the CEO of Scenes.

Investing in the stock market is difficult.
I think we all know that. There are so many companies to choose from and endless annual reports to read before making decisions about where we put our money.
And for most of us, choosing what equities to invest in aren’t our full time jobs, we have so many other things to do and focus on in our lives.
So to solve this problem, the financial world has created Index and Mutual Funds.
I’m sure these are terms you’ve heard of in the past. And you might also be an investor in these types of funds.
But surprisingly, a lot of us don’t truly understand the nuance that defines the two types of funds. A lot of us don’t truly understand which type of fund is better for us to invest our money into.
Index funds or Mutual funds?
That’s the question we solve in this episode.
To do this, we spoke to Hansi Mehrotra who is the Founder of Money Management India.
