Publisher's Summary:
Griffin Storm wasn't prone to violence, but when someone takes what Griffin holds dear, the world as he knows it is gone. Retaliation, revenge, and rage fuel him. His MC, the Uncertain Saints, do their best to offer support, but Griffin is beyond redemption. He'll do what he has to do. Kill who he has to kill. He doesn't care if that means he dies. If it gets him what he wants, then it's worth it.
He fakes it all until the night he walks into a sex shop for batteries and lays eyes on a woman that will change his life. Lenore makes him think past tomorrow. Makes him want to see just what the future might bring. But his life's a dangerous one built around pain and deception, and not for the faint of heart. He won't give up the past, not until he's done what he promised to do. And if that means she's not there when the dust settles, he'll risk it.
Lenore, though, won't give up on him. She'll fix him, whether he wants her to or not.

Ms. Vale never disappoints.
The narrators were great, her southern twang and his deep timber, they fit perfectly for the storyline. I look forward to the next book. Thank you.
Lani Lynn Vale does it again!!
Great Read or in this case listen. Lani has a way of bringing her characters alive. Can't wait for the next book to be released. Love Lanore, she is such a spunky character. and as always Griffin is such a man's man. So so worth the listen!
Good, But Not Great.....
Overall, I liked Whiskey Neat but had a hard time connecting with the characters, and have a few comments.
Spoiler Alert;
First, the story felt like it had gaps in it. I found myself checking to see if I skipped a chapter and actually rewound it several times just be sure I didn't miss anything. The biggest gap revolves around Griffin and Lenore relationship. They first meet when Griffin goes into Lenore sex shop to buy batteries, and Lenore gets his name from a credit card. The next time they see each other, Griffin and some other members of the MC are beating up one of her neighbors. Griffin tells her to leave but she is shell shocked and just stands there he takes her hand and walks her to her place, walks in and checks out all the rooms and see a toy on her nightstand and actually smells it. Later that night he breaks in Lenore home and they have sex. He basically tells her she can no longer use the toy and can only "get off" with him. I'm all for instant love, but they never really spoke or even given each other their names. The sex scenes were good, but there was no chemistry or build up between them.
Second, I wasn't able to connect emotionally with the hero. Griffin's son was murdered and the story eludes to how he is suffering but I never really felt any emotions from him except for his need to ensure the people responsible are caught and pay for what they've done.
Lastly, Uncertain Saints MC is made of law enforcement that walk a thin line between right and wrong. Normally when people comment crimes like beating someone up, they don't want witness. These renegade law enforcement really did not feel like a real MC. They had motorcycles, and "church" but that was about it.
