Der 8-jährige Lowland-Whisky wurde wie gewohnt ohne Kühlfilterung und in natürlicher Farbe abgefüllt.

Wir verkosten den Bumbu The Original Rum. Bumbu The Original ist das Aushängeschild der Brennerei, die 1893 auf Barbados eröffnet wurde. Dort wird Zuckerrohr aus acht der weltweit besten Zuckerrohr produzierenden Ländern verarbeitet: Barbados, Bélize, Brasilien, Costa Rica, Dominikanische Republik, El Salvador, Honduras und Guyana. Die Rums reifen bis zu 15 Jahre, bevor sie mit natürlichen Aromen vermischt werden, wie es einst die Seefahrer aus dem 16. und 17. Jahrhundert machten. Diese mischten zu ihrem Rum karibische Früchte und Gewürze und nannten diese Mixtur „Bumbu".

Wir verkosten den Highland Park Full-Bodied & Refined 18 Jahre. Der 18-jährige Highland Park wurde aus Gerste hergestellt, die über Torf aus dem Hobbister Moor geräuchert wurde. Dadurch und durch die lange Reifung in per Hand ausgewählten First Fill Sherryfässern sowie mit Sherry vorbelegten Fässern aus amerikanischer Eiche, erhielt der Orkney-Whisky eine süßliche Torfrauchnote, die sich mit maritimen Akzenten und Noten von Heidehonig verbindet.

Wir verkosten den Dalmore 17 Jahre. Unter den wachsamen Augen der Dalmore Whisky Maker reifte der New Make Spirit zunächst in Fässern aus amerikanischer Weißeiche (Ex-Bourbon), die dem Whisky eine solide und ausgewogene Basis aus weichen Vanille- und Honignoten verliehen. Im Anschluss wurde der Dalmore Single Malt dann in Oloroso-Sherryfässern unterschiedlicher Art gereift.

Von Weinflaschen kennt der Ein oder Andere das Problem, dass ein Wein mal ‚korken‘ kann. Im Gegensatz zum Wein, kommt der Korkschmecker bei Whisky deutlich seltener vor. Von ca. 3.000 bis 5.000 verkauften Flaschen kommt eine als Korkschmecker zurück.

Wir verkosten den Ardnahoe Cask Strength - Batch No. 1 - 5 Jahre. Der Ardnahoe Cask Strength ist die erste fassstarke Edition der neuen Islay Whiskybrennerei. Destillerie Direktor Scott Laing und Distillery Manager David Livingstone erstellten den Single Malt mit dem Team nach traditionellen Methoden. Torfhaltiges Islay-Wasser wurde aus dem Loch Ardnahoe entnommen und zwei traditionelle Worm-Tubs (die einzigen auf Islay) kamen bei der Herstellung zum Einsatz.
