Whitcomb Ministries

There are only two options for how we live our lives. This is especially significant as we consider reflecting on the past year and looking forward to the opportunities of 2025. A challenge to live life in such a way that it counts for eternity.

As we turn the corner to a New Year, we pause to receive Godly wisdom and guidance from author and theologian Dr. John Whitcomb in this holiday installment of "Encounter God's Truth." Dr. Whitcomb went to a familiar Psalm written by Moses, which explains the brevity and frailty of life and tells us how we should respond to God and His grace in light of the limited number of days we have to serve the Lord on this earth. Host Wayne Shepherd then asked Dr. Whitcomb to explain more about the future hope we have in Christ—as expressed in Psalm 90 from the Old Testament perspective. As we begin a New Year together, let us ever remember that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! May it guide our steps all the way throughout 2025. Thanks so much for listening as we begin another year of broadcasting here on "Encounter God's Truth."

This week on "Encounter God's Truth," we listen as Bible prophecy scholar Dr. John Whitcomb shows us why "Elijah May Appear—This Year!" This season of the year is a good one in which to remind ourselves of the importance of the prophetic future. Dr. Whitcomb's message takes us to a number of passages during the course of this lesson, including Malachi 4:4-6; Matthew 11:11-13; 16:28-17:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; and Revelation 11:3-12. Host Wayne Shepherd also asked a question of Dr. Whitcomb. He wanted to know if the Elijah who will reappear in the nation of Israel in the future is the same man who ministered to the northern kingdom of Israel in the Old Testament. As we conclude this final "Encounter God's Truth" of 2024, we are certain that God's Word remains true from the beginning to the end! Isn't it a great comfort to know that its truths will continue to guide us into the New Year? Stay close to that Word as we begin 2025 together.

Too often we fail to look past the baby in the manger to understand who the Christ of Christmas truly is. A reminder of the essential nature of the Christ of Christmas.

On this Christmas weekend, we listen together as noted author and Bible teacher Dr. John Whitcomb takes a look back at the well-known Christmas shepherds in Luke 2 and their historical predecessor, the young shepherd boy David, to see what they can teach us about the real message of Christmas. "I want to be humble before You," Dr. Whitcomb stated. "I want to be like a shepherd. Humble me before You, Lord." Dr. Whitcomb also turned to the famous passage in Philippians 2 to teach us how Christ, our Good Shepherd, humbled Himself so greatly on our behalf in becoming our Savior. Join host Wayne Shepherd for this special celebration of Christmas. All of us at Whitcomb Ministries thank you for listening to "Encounter God's Truth" this week and wish you a blessed Christmas grounded in God's Word, which is true from the beginning to the end!

A look into the person of the Christ of Christmas who stepped into our world. This references the seven attributes of Christ from Hebrews 1:1-3.

Today on "Encounter God's Truth," Dr. John Whitcomb brings us the concluding lesson on "The Fears and Faith of Joseph," with a message entitled: "Joseph: He was a Dreamer of Dreams." You will want to follow in Matthew chapters 1 and 2, because God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! This is a lesson on the character and integrity of Joseph—with spiritual application for us today. Dr. Whitcomb then fields a question from host Wayne Shepherd about Joseph's Old Testament namesake—Joseph the son of Jacob. Like him, this Joseph, the husband of Mary, had dreams from God that ultimately led him to Egypt. Our teacher compares and contrasts these two men. We trust that this program will be a blessing to you this Christmas.

Who is Jesus? That is the most important question that can be asked and the answer to that question will determine a person's eternal destiny. As Jesus entered Jerusalem - that was the question that was being asked by many and Jesus demonstrated His answer to that question.

"Encounter God's Truth" brings you timeless truths for changing times. Dr. John Whitcomb spent much of his life teaching the Old Testament. It was really quite remarkable, then, that in his later years he devoted much of his energy to preparing messages on the New Testament book of Acts. We're so glad that he did, however, because now we have those recordings to benefit from—and to share with you here on "Encounter God's Truth." So join with us now as we look at the final section of Acts 18, in Volume Six in our ongoing series called "Acts: Witness of the Early Church." Whitcomb Ministries declares with certainty that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. As host Wayne Shepherd shares, we bring you this teaching with gratitude to our friends at Middletown Bible Church in Middletown, Conn., where Dr. Whitcomb first delivered it before the Independent Fundamental Bible Conference.
