Whitcomb Ministries

Bible scholar Dr. John Whitcomb concludes his study called "Steering Clear of Shipwreck"—this week on "Encounter God's Truth." With assistance from host Wayne Shepherd, we present this unique address to increase your confidence that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. Speaking before a group of pastors and church leaders, Dr. Whitcomb weaves together principles from a number of texts of Scripture as he confronts us with this probing question: "How is your conscience before God?" Our speaker instructs us as to how we should go about fulfilling our Lord's Great Commission to reach the entire world with the complete message that He has left us in His all-sufficient Word. We also learn about the personal qualifications needed for anyone who would strive to be part of this endeavor. Whitcomb Ministries invites you to share this faith-building program with all who will listen. We appreciate your participation in this ministry.

"Every human being that's ever walked this Earth has a God-created capacity to recognize what's right and wrong." So stated Bible teacher Dr. John Whitcomb in this classic message, as he instructed us regarding the importance of the conscience. And that is our topic beginning on this edition of "Encounter God's Truth." It is the first half of a two-part message called, "Steering Clear of Shipwreck." We survey a number of Bible passages from both the Old and New Testaments, and Dr. Whitcomb's teaching exhorts us to examine ourselves and our own faithfulness to the Lord God in the spirit of the apostles. They asked Jesus—when He announced that one of them would betray Him—"Lord, is it I?" As Dr. Whitcomb shared, this is not an easy message, but one that can help us to stay focused on the path of service and blessing. In the words of host Wayne Shepherd, Whitcomb Ministries presents this Bible-teaching broadcast to increase your confidence in the certainty that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. Thanks for listening!

We focus our attention on Christ as "Alpha and Omega" once again this week on "Encounter God's Truth"—also applying that reality in ways that will help us serve Him in these distressing times. Host Wayne Shepherd guides us in listening to portions of three different presentations by Dr. John Whitcomb. Together, they offer a brilliant demonstration of the fact that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. First, we consider the outworking of our faith in Christ as "Alpha and Omega" by studying the strategy offered in 2 Timothy 2, by which we endeavor to teach the entirety of Scripture to the whole world. Next, we hear questions posed to Dr. Whitcomb on both creationism and prophecy, followed by an exhortation that will motivate us to serve the Lord at this crucial hour. With thanks to Victory Baptist Church in Whiteland, Ind., and Prairie Baptist Church in Noblesville, Ind., for portions of this audio, we offer this broadcast with prayers that many will hear and share its gospel message.

Author and Biblical scholar Dr. John Whitcomb offered words of hope and anticipation to help us press forward during spiritually challenging times in this message, which focuses on Christ as "Alpha and Omega." With assistance from host Wayne Shepherd, Dr. Whitcomb drew from the broad sweep of Scripture in this message—giving Biblical reasons to persevere in our service to the Lord until the day of His return. Dr. Whitcomb went all the way back to creation to establish this theme. This program truly embodies our mission on "Encounter God's Truth," which is to declare that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! In fact, Dr. Whitcomb encouraged us to be faithful to take all 66 books of the Bible seriously. We trust that this broadcast—the first half of a short series—will be a great blessing to you. If it is, won't you please consider sharing it with someone else as well?

As we turn the corner into this New Year, we pause to receive Godly wisdom and guidance from author and theologian Dr. John Whitcomb in this special installment of "Encounter God's Truth." Dr. Whitcomb went to a familiar Psalm written by Moses, which explains the brevity and frailty of life and tells us how we should respond to God and His grace in light of the limited number of days we have to serve the Lord on this earth. Host Wayne Shepherd then asked Dr. Whitcomb to explain more about the future hope we have in Christ—as expressed in Psalm 90 from the Old Testament perspective. As we begin a New Year together, let us ever remember that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! May it guide our steps all the way throughout 2026. Thanks so much for listening as we begin another year of broadcasting here on "Encounter God's Truth."

This week on "Encounter God's Truth," we listen as Bible prophecy scholar Dr. John Whitcomb shows us why "Elijah May Appear—This Year!" This season of the year is a good one in which to remind ourselves of the importance of the prophetic future. Dr. Whitcomb's message takes us to a number of passages during the course of this lesson, including Malachi 4:4-6; Matthew 11:11-13; 16:28-17:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; and Revelation 11:3-12. Host Wayne Shepherd also asked a question of Dr. Whitcomb. He wanted to know if the Elijah who will reappear in the nation of Israel in the future is the same man who ministered to the northern kingdom of Israel in the Old Testament. As we begin 2026 together on "Encounter God's Truth," we remain certain that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! Isn't it a wonderful comfort to know that its truths will continue to guide us throughout the New Year? Stay close to that Word as we begin the year together.

Welcome to a special Christmas holiday edition of "Encounter God's Truth"! This week we present a Christmas message from Dr. Dan Pritchett, the son of Dr. John and Mrs. Norma Whitcomb, and the president of Whitcomb Ministries. Dr. Pritchett unfolds the very words of Jesus, and what He said about His own coming to Earth, as the author of Hebrews draws from the prophetic words of Psalm 40. This should bring wonderful comfort to each of our hearts as we prepare to enjoy the conclusion of the Christmas season together. With host Wayne Shepherd, we join in wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

Old Testament scholar Dr. John Whitcomb teaches us about "Christmas in the Pentateuch" here on "Encounter God's Truth," taking us to passages such as the following: Gen. 3:15; 12:3; 22:18; 49:10; Num. 24:17-19; Deut. 18:15-22; Ezek. 21:27; and John 1:9-12. Our teacher will show us that the setting for Christmas goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden, when God first promised a Savior. We trust that this unique lesson will help you think Biblically about the prophetic significance of Christ's birth and ministry now as the Christmas season unfolds. Host Wayne Shepherd then inquires of Dr. Whitcomb as to the fulfillment of these Old Testament prophecies of Christ's coming from John chapter one. As you celebrate our Lord's incarnation this year, remember that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. Merry Christmas!

Today on "Encounter God's Truth," Dr. John Whitcomb brings us the concluding lesson on "The Fears and Faith of Joseph," with a message entitled: "Joseph: He was a Dreamer of Dreams." You will want to follow in Matthew chapters 1 and 2, because God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! This is a lesson on the character and integrity of Joseph—with spiritual application for us today. Dr. Whitcomb then fields a question from host Wayne Shepherd about Joseph's Old Testament namesake—Joseph the son of Jacob. Like him, this Joseph, the husband of Mary, had dreams from God that ultimately led him to Egypt. Our teacher compares and contrasts these two men. We trust that this program will be a blessing to you this Christmas.
