Whitcomb Ministries

This week on "Encounter God's Truth," Dr. John Whitcomb tells the story of his conversion to the Christian faith—showing how numerous lessons that he has learned through the years since that time can be applied to our lives today. It is a personal and practical look at what God has done in the life of our speaker over many decades—and what he has gained from those experiences that we can utilize in our attempts at evangelism and upholding a Biblical defense of the faith. Host Wayne Shepherd reminds us that this insightful presentation also reinforces the reality that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. This is latest installment in our series called "Basic Biblical Distinctions," which was recorded live at Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Ind. Whitcomb Ministries thanks that congregation for generously allowing us to present these talks here on the radio ministry of "Encounter God's Truth."

What is the point or purpose of life? The "Preacher" wrestles with life and with what brings purpose and meaning. A reminder of God's purpose for our lives that has eternal significance.

Can you imagine Dr. John Whitcomb—one of the founders of the modern Biblical creation movement—ever being an evolutionist? Well, he was at one time—many years ago—an unconverted evolutionist! But God had a different plan, and our speaker begins to unfold that story today. On this edition of "Encounter God's Truth," we begin a four-part look at how God worked providentially in the life of our speaker—first to bring him to faith in Christ and then to give him a foundation for a lifetime of study, service and teaching of creationism and apologetics. We trust that you will be encouraged by our program this week. Whitcomb Ministries presents it with appreciation to Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Indiana, where this message was first given. We also bring it to you in the hope that it will strengthen your conviction that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end.

We receive conflicting advice on how to live our lives with meaning and purpose. What has lasting value? Jesus gives to us instruction on living purposefully, no matter what our age in His final instructions as recorded in Matthew. Jesus provides Four Truths for Living Purposefully

God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! This week on "Encounter God's Truth," we continue to survey what the Word has to say about this world—from beginning to end—as we see it through history, science and prophecy. Host Wayne Shepherd encourages you to listen and learn about "The Five Worlds of History, Science and Prophecy." We pick up this week by thinking about the third world system. It is the second installment in a signal series from author and theologian Dr. John Whitcomb, called "Basic Biblical Distinctions." In it, we are looking at several issues involved in Biblical history and apologetics—and Dr. Whitcomb will show us what those topics really mean for us, and how they apply to our spiritual lives. Whitcomb Ministries is thankful to Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Indiana, for allowing us to bring these messages to you here on "Encounter God's Truth."

The Bible is a big book—so how do we really make sense of it all? Does it matter where we begin to read, or whether we take things in order? Is the Bible actually even based on real history? This week on "Encounter God's Truth," we learn some important answers to these questions as we begin a new series by Bible teacher Dr. John Whitcomb called "Basic Biblical Distinctions." Here in part one of a message on "The Five Worlds of History, Science and Prophecy," we want to study more about the world before the fall, the world between the fall and the flood, and the world as we see it today. Dr. Whitcomb presented the messages from this series several years ago at a conference held at Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Ind. Along with host Wayne Shepherd, Whitcomb Ministries thanks this church for allowing us to bring them to you here on "Encounter God's Truth." We offer this program up with praise to God and thanks to the great outlets that bring it to you.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ offers to us the opportunity for new life! It provides meaning and purpose in this life for us, and the promise of life after life.

Passover coincides with both Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday on the calendar this year, and host Wayne Shepherd welcomes Dr. Sigler to conclude his two-part series, for this Passion week, as we celebrate the resurrection. Once again, it is our prayer that Dr. Sigler's insightful teaching will cause you to realize in a powerful new way that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. Happy Easter Sunday!
