Hello, and thank you for tuning into The Sixth in my New Video series, INDICTED AND FACING PRISON: NOW WHAT?My name is Marc Blatstein. In 2006, I was Indicted, pled guilty to a felony, and lost my medical license. To call this a surreal experience is an understatement.
My goal in this series is to provide you with the crucial information you’ll need to survive and navigate these times. I’ll cover a new topic every day so that you can move forward with the Knowledge, Preparation, and Confidence you’ll need to get the best outcome. Since you know that the DOJ and Feds have been asking questions, their case against you is mostly complete. And, with a 98% conviction rate, the odds are that you’re going to prison.Knowledge is power, and now it's in your hands. Delaying taking the next step is at your peril. The consequences of inaction can be severe.Equally important is hiring a legal team with experience and a proven track record of successfully defending cases like yours. Your future is at stake, and making the right choices now is crucial. That Target letter or for you to appear before a grand jury,You hear Rumors from colleagues, staff, family, friends, or business associates,You get a visit at your home or place of employmentIf days, weeks, or months pass and nothing happens, you still have a problem. The DOJ is very deliberate about having abundant information to charge you before they raid your home, office, or both simultaneously. That was how it went with me. KNOWLEDGE and PREPARATIONThese are crucial to a successful outcome, and the odds are they will include some time in Prison. It’s OK to go to trial and lose - all is not lost – Why?
Preparation for your eventual interviewGetting Character letters: Someone who has known you for a long time, this "was so out of character."Family support that will hold you accountable- will not let you stray into the gray zone. They want to hire you after your release due to your Character and Skills. Do not spend the days, weeks, or months waiting at home until sentencing.Getting a job (that pays anything), saving some $$ to pay down Restitution at sentencing - saving $100/ month working.,Volunteering, orTaking care of a relative is what the judge wants to hearThey do not want to hear that you’ve been at home watching TV or depressed.Don't shop up at sentencing in a Porsche; start selling your vacation homes, KNOWLEDGE How you present yourself to your Probation Officer, who is responsible for both interviewing and investigating all about youThat same officer will recommend your sentence and placement to your Judge. Be prepared. What are you doing to prepare for your Presentence InterviewWhat prison do you and your attorney feel is best for you –make the placement request before and during the Interview (PSI), To engage my services or to have your concerns answered, Call me Today: 240.888.7778. Hello, and thank you for tuning into my Video series, INDICTED AND FACING PRISON: NOW WHAT? My name is Marc Blatstein.
    • Since you’re already aware that the DOJ and Feds have been asking questions, their case against you is mostly complete. And, with a 98% Conviction Rate the odds are you’re going to prison.
    • Knowledge is power, and now it's in your hands. Delaying to take the next step is at your peril. The consequences of inaction can be severe.
    • Equally important is hiring a legal team that doesn’t just have experience but a proven track record of successfully defending cases like yours. Your future is at stake, and it's crucial to make the right choices now.
Should you have questions, please do not hesitate to call and consider engaging my services at 240.888.7778—this is your life.
When you learn that the FBI has been asking questions, you’ve received a target letter inviting you to a “Meeting,” or you’ve been ordered to appear before a Grand Jury. You need to take this seriously.
    • Why? Because the DOJ’s and FBI’s case against you is mostly complete, and in the Federal System, over 95% of defendants go to prison. You’ll hear about this more in future segments of this program series.
This is a surreal experience; it’s serious, and you’ll have a lot to do.
    • One of the first things you will need to do is begin interviewing attorneys. Which attorney you choose is likely the most important decision you’ll need to make. Why? Because it does you no good to hire a federal criminal defense attorney with experience in taxes – if your case is Drug- or Healthcare-related.
If you're already at this point and don’t have the time to wait for my future videos, call me, and we can discuss your situation one-on-one. Once again, my number is 240.888.7778.
    • There are ~ 13 key questions to ask when interviewing attorneys. I’ll discuss those 13 questions in depth in a future Video.
NEXT: You have a choice, Trial or Plea, but know this: 99% of defendants who go to trial will lose. If you lose at trial, the sentence will be harsher. So, be honest with yourself. If you believe You Are Guilty, tell your lawyer because this could result in a lesser sentence.
But either way, all is not lost. There are things you can do to help yourself get a lesser sentence. In future videos
Things like a Cooperation agreement, how to make an ally of the Probation Officer who will write your Presentence Report, what works with Character Letters, and other ways to lessen your sentence - No Promises.

Judge Robert Scola suggests that criminal defense attorneys should take cues from their counterparts who handle death penalty cases and give due consideration to sentencing advocacy at an early stage.
You’ve just been notified that The FBI is interested in you - which sounds familiar?
    • Were you involved in PPP or other Loan Frauds?
    • You’ve heard rumors that the authorities have been asking questions?
