This topic is huge. We decided to start with our shared experience as women who perform West African Dance. The idea that white women have ownership in this arena is a HUGE problem in the PNW. It is alienating, racially ignorant, privileged and grossly entitled. IMHO, it is why this community is stifled. Welllll, we talk about it.
