Black Girl From Eugene episodes

  • Goodbye
This week is the last episode of the podcast. This project has been healing and important for me, and now it is done. The old episodes will remain available for you to listen to and revisit over the years, but now is time for me to say goodbye.

I want to leave you with one final thought: now is the time to move forward into uncertainty with moral clarity. If you need permission to stay steady in your truth, then here it is.

  • Come Out
This week is the beginning of the end for this podcast. I’ve realized that the creative loop that inspired this project has closed and it is time for me to move on to the next one. We’ll close out the month of October together, and then you’ll have to come find me on Substack to know what happens next! Before we part ways, let’s talk about why this podcast started, what it healed for me over these last several years, and what the next phase of the journey of healing is going to look like.

  • BGFE Rewind: DEI is for You

  • Five Years Later
This week is a long conversation with my son Quinten about what has changed for me and the podcast over the last five years. We talk about the origins of the podcast, what “peace” and “healing” actually look like, the usefulness of astrology in helping me navigate through so many changes, the depths of old fear and anger, and even a little bit of advice for how we can all approach the next five years. Thank you for being part of the journey!

  • Moving Abroad
Today I want to talk to you about practical steps and advice for moving abroad when it all feels like too much. Yes it is a privilege to move to another country, but it is accessible if you know how to break it down into manageable steps that fit your values as well as your budget.

  • Staying Intentional
There is a lot going on right now that is hard to process, but we have to remember that we got here because we said a lot of stuff, but we didn’t DO a lot of stuff. We need to strive to be intentional with what we bring to our everyday interactions, otherwise we get overwhelmed trying to be perfect.

  • American Fantasies
As I settle into living outside of the US again, I’ve got some thoughts about why and how people are talking about leaving. The global perspective on quality of life in and beyond the US is very different than what many US citizens might expect, and there is a grief that comes with realizing that.

Some short and sweet advice on what growth means for us as a society at this moment. Do we know where we are going? Do we know what the new game will be? How does your role contribute to the whole?

  • Let Go
I don’t know what to say anymore, but I want to say something about the mindset we are taking into this fall of the United States into tyranny. There’s a problem with the lens we are looking through that we have to clean up if we want to build a better future out of this mess. We have to let go of perfectionism and let people be out of pocket while they are changing.
