Ru: Зимний вечер в Санкт-Петербурге был особенно холодным.
En: The winter evening in Sankt-Peterburge was particularly cold.

Ru: Белые ночи пока не наступили, но над городом уже витала особая атмосфера ожидания праздника.
En: The white nights had yet to arrive, but the city was already enveloped in a special atmosphere of festive anticipation.
