Another season of the Vitality T20 Blast is in the books, so for the final time in 2023, Jarleth Eaton and Cam McFarlane come together to review what happened on the biggest stage in English domestic cricket, as a fabulous Finals Day took place at Edgbaston. Alongside Online Darts' Jack "Gobby" Garwood, the boys review both semi finals and the final, which saw Somerset seal their first T20 title since 2005, and their second overall. The trio explain how the team topped the South, why they won the event, and whether they're primed to repeat their success next year. Plus, the contentious Mascot Race result is also discussed, before Jar, Cam and Gob end the pod and the season by looking back at their favourite moment from the Vitality T20 Blast in 2023, as well as a discussion on where the competition is with rival T20 leagues popping up elsewhere. Thanks for listening and for your support throughout this year, and we'll see you in 2024.
It's here. After 130 games, we are down to the final four sides left standing in the 2023 Vitality T20 Blast. It's time for the greatest day in English cricket, and Jarleth Eaton, Cam McFarlane and Online Darts' Jack "Gobby" Garwood are here to preview everything to do with Finals Day. The boys take a look at how each of Essex, Hampshire, Somerset and Surrey have made it to the big dance, plus how each side could win it. They pick their winners of the two semi finals (Essex v Hampshire, Somerset v Surrey), their winners of the most important part of the day, the Mascot Race, plus who they believe will ultimately lift the 2023 Vitality T20 Blast trophy at around 9.45pm on Saturday. If the rain stays away, obvs. Speaking of rain, if you'd like to hear what Cam would sound like in The Poseidon Adventure, this is the episode for you. Thanks as always for listening, and if you're coming to Finals Day, let us know via @T20BlastPod on socials.
Jarleth Eaton and Cam McFarlane are back together to review the final weekend of the 2023 Vitality T20 Blast group stages. The boys go through the story of the North Group and South Group, which saw huge drama that went down to the final game to determine who exactly made the quarter final spots. After reviewing the final tables, Jar and Cam get very excited, as it is time for knockout cricket! As well as getting annoyed at the fact that not all games are being televised, the hosts then look ahead to the quarter finals, and give their verdicts on who will be at Finals Day next Saturday at Edgbaston. It's been another interesting and entertaining midweek in the Vitality T20 Blast, so Jarleth Eaton and Cam McFarlane are back together to record this latest episode of the podcast. The boys review two crucial wins for Somerset in the South Group, plus Cam comes off his long run about what's going on at his Lancashire Lightning, as they lost another game, this time to the Worcestershire Rapids. Jar, by contrast, is delighted to talk about his Birmingham Bears getting over the line at Durham, remaining top of the North Group. There's also discussion about the wins for Northants, Notts, Derbyshire, Surrey and Kent, before the hosts look at the two group tables and ask who's realistically still in the run in to make the knockout stages? Finally, Jar and Cam preview the matches on Thursday and Friday, with some potentially huge games in the battle to reach the quarter finals.
