#guff, #ba, and #jhood talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly so far of the #whitesox 2026 season. The guys list their concerns about the White Sox's pitching staff and specifically the atrocious bullpen performance so far. The Sox pitchers are issuing too many walks and need to be more aggressive, throwing strikes. Guff says that #granttaylor needs to be in higher leverage situations in the backend of the bullpen, and the Sox need to find a new opener. The guys also say that the Sox will start bringing up some of their top prospects like #noahshultz, #samantonacci, and #tannermcdougal sooner rather than later. Guff thinks that these guys may be brought up by Memorial Day. The White Sox outfield has been a major weakness due to injuries and a lack of depth. The White Sox's lack of power in the lineup has forced their baserunning to be a lot more aggressive. #munetakimurakami has been great so far to start the season with his power. #davismartin has been a pleasant surprise so far this season with his ability to go deep in games. BA and the guys debate whether to manage young pitchers' innings or put them out on the mound as much as possible. What is one word that describes the early stages of the White Sox season?

The #whitesox are inching closer to #openingday and #guff BA & #jhood get together on the podcast to discuss whether or not #shanesmith and #colsonmontgomery can take the next step towards stardom.  Smith was a Rule 5 'great story' in 2025 and, after an #allstar season, now takes the reigns as Opening Day starter for the Sox when they face the #milwaukeebrewers in a few weeks.  The guys build the case as to why it can continue as well as why he may just settle in to a good spot in the rotation.  As for Montgomery, the guys all say that 2025 was for real and that a star in in the making on the Southside, despite a subpar spring.  But, BA discusses why stats don't 'really' matter when you're getting your work in in the desert.  Plus, the guys discuss the White Sox style of play as they've performed as one of the best in all of the Cactus League.  And, a great BA story on #kennywilliams that leads to thoughts on his playing career.
