Even though Peter is often looked down upon for sinking in the waters...there are things we can learn from his actions in our own times of sinking.

Sometimes Jesus will call us out of the safety of the boat to walk in the storm. However, unless we have first learned how to rest in the storm, it will be impossible to walk in the storm. The stages of growth are necessary.

Every single one of us face storms in our life. It isn't guaranteed that Jesus will calm those storm but that shouldn't matter. We should be able to rest in the midst of those storms because of our deep confidence in our unseen God.

Suffering has a way of muddying the waters. It can cause you to question everything. We must come to a point of choosing Jesus in spite of how everything seems.

Paul is on his way to Rome and he undergoes a shipwreck, a snake bite, and delayed travel. Paul, through the work of God, uses these "problems" as "platforms" to glorify God and to bear witness about Him. Paul after years of waiting, finally arrives in Rome to appear before Caesar in hopes of being declared innocent.
