"Where Can I Go from Your Spirit?" from Matthew 8:23-34

Jesus leaves the crowds to see who actually wants to follow Him now that He has laid out His Kingdom Life Manifesto (the sermon on the mount). As He departs, two would-be disciples try Him out but ultimately do not follow Him. His test of them is leave comfort and relationships behind, but they are unwilling. Are we willing to follow Jesus when its hard?

Jesus demonstrates His willingness, His ability, and His compassion in this series of healings from Matthew 8:1-17. As we think about our prayers for physical healings as well as for God to work in any situation, let us seek His face for these three reasons.

Jesus finishes His sermon on the mount in Matthew 7:12-27 by calling His hearers to make a decision. If they follow Him, it will be hard but it leads to life. If they reject Him OR do nothing, its easier but it leads to fiery destruction. We too must make this immense choice today.
