Matthew 16:13-20 recounts Jesus asking His disciples, "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter responds, declaring that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus blesses Peter for this revelation, saying it came from God, and He promises to build His Church upon that fact, that He is the Son of God.
