You Are Enough, Episode 1,
Did you wake up today unexcited, unmotivated, tired, worried, fearful, probably even depressed and anxious? The feeling of lack in your life has just gotten to be too much. You are literally a shell of the person that you used to be. You live your days forcing a smile and thinking about all that you've lost. You just don't have everything.
You see pictures posted on social media of friends and group gatherings that you're not a part of. The vacation, the new car, the new home, the cool clothes, and then you realize you don't have it. It's not happening for you. And you feel a sense of lack. There's no buzzer beater game winning shot for you. There's no sweet ride in the driveway.
No, there's no promotion at work. There's no big paycheck. Come on, you know we all want that big paycheck in the mail. There's no trip that you get to go on and take your family on. In fact, you actually just had to cancel it because the funds are not in the bank and it just isn't in the cards for you this year. You don't have money. You're not enough. That's all you hear. In fact, you woke up late and there's a new pimple on your face and you walk.
into your closet and it's the same old boring clothes. There's really no joy in the closet. What you do have though is you do have a message waiting on your phone for you from your spouse or your boss or your coach. Maybe it's your parent or a friend telling you somehow some way you screwed up again. You blew it. You're not enough and that is literally the only thing you can seem to hear day in and day out is I'm just not enough. I guess I'm a loser.
Stop it. Stop it right there! I reject that. That is a lie from the pit of hell. You are way more than enough and I want to tell you what God has to say about that.
Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.
Luke 12:7 The very hairs on your head are all numbered.
Job 33:4 The spirit of God has made me and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
I'm here to tell you the enemy of your soul, the devil, all he wants to do is steal your joy. He wants to steal your peace.
Proverbs 23 :7 as a man thinks so he is.
3 Ways to shift your focus and help when you slip into this train of thought.
1- Stack your proof.
Look back at the things that you have accomplished, the things that you have done, maybe the things that you've said that have really encouraged someone. Look back at those things. OK, maybe you can look back a week. You can look back a couple of years. .
2- Show Gratitude. Just be thankful for the things that you have. Be thankful for the roof over your head. Be thankful that the sun is out And your gratitude is the absolute key to transforming your whole entire perspective and your whole entire mentality.
3-Find Inspiring Music Music that inspires and lifts you up. I'm a big music person and I highly recommend there's so many great songs out there but one in particular that I can think of is Lauren Daigle. You say...
I highly recommend that song.
