We had a glorious encounter with a hawk on our way to school this morning. It was perched on a mailbox, and took flight just as we approached, flew ahead of us in the roadway for about 30 yards, then flew up to a tree branch to watch us roll by.

This imposing little rabbit was standing guard in the street this morning. She sat there so long, just studying us before deciding to bolt. I wondered aloud whether we needed a password to go by.
