In March 1996, Author and Inspirational Speaker Steve Bottrill was on a ventilator after suffering a brain injury, collapsed lung, and several other injuries from a motor vehicle accident.

At 22 years old, he was in a coma but aware of conversations taking place at his hospital bedside between his parents and medical staff about what to do with his organs after his death.
