This is part 1 of a 4-part series. Watch the other videos here: https://youtu.be/hSe06DYy3Ww.
The most physically capable years of your life are the ones you're spending telling yourself adventure has to wait, and by the time you're ready, your body won't be.
Adventure isn't frivolous or something you earn after retirement, and treating it that way might be the root cause of the disease showing up in your body right now.
As a physician who has sat with thousands of patients behind closed doors, I've watched two people with nearly identical charts live completely different lives, and the variable is always the same.
This episode is personal. Packing my gear for a second scuba trip in 2024, I realized the woman who'd spent years in fight or flight, wondering if she was allowed to leave her kids, was gone.
Adventure is a primal human need. Not a hobby. Not a reward. Not a bucket list item you cash in at 70 when your knees are gone.
There's a cost to living without wonder that nobody talks about. I've watched it show up as declining balance, weakening quads and core, and a slow shrinking of the distances people are willing to travel.
The next four episodes are dedicated to this, because the pattern is too consistent to ignore. If you've been telling yourself adventure is impractical, irresponsible, or something for later, I'd like you to sit with what that story is costing you.
You'll Learn:

[2:34] Why adventure sits at the pinnacle of human health, above even contribution
[8:30] How high achievers trade wonder for competition until they forget how to play
[10:23] Moving through the fight-or-flight that told me scuba diving wasn't safe
[13:01] Why adventure is how our humanness actually feels the presence of God
[16:43] Why putting wonder in the abyss of someday drives true dis-ease in the body
[18:15] The equation that promises security but builds a life of constriction
[22:07] What happens to your balance, core, and proprioception when your world slowly shrinks
[24:31] The inertia of gear, kids, and airports, and why it all makes logical sense
[30:04] Why I believe nothing is important enough to say no to wonder
