I Was Afraid of Losing Love and Lost Myself
How do you know when it’s time to let go?
And what happens when letting go feels like it might cost you the love, relationship, friendship, or life you’ve worked so hard to hold onto?
In this deeply personal episode, I’m talking about the terrifying space between I don’t want to lose this and I can’t keep losing myself.
I share some of my own story of arriving at a hard no—and the realization that sometimes the hardest thing isn’t letting go of another person. It’s letting go of the version of yourself who has learned to self-abandon in order to keep the peace, preserve connection, or remain loved.
We’ll talk about marriage and friendship, boundaries and fear, and the complicated grief that comes when you finally choose something you know you need—even when your heart is still catching up.
Because making the decision is only one part of letting go.
Then come the waves.
The grief. The doubt. The relief. The loneliness. The anger. The tenderness. The moments when you question everything.
So how do we stay with ourselves through all of that?
How do we strengthen the relationship we have with ourselves so that we can move through change without abandoning ourselves all over again?
This is a conversation about letting go—but even more than that, it’s a conversation about coming home to yourself.

After a long break, I’m back. And there’s a lot to talk about. In this episode, I’m sharing what happened in my marriage—and how I went from being a fierce advocate for marriage to making the decision to divorce. We circled back to the same conclusion three different times in five months. Eventually, I had to face something I had spent years believing wasn’t possible: sometimes love, commitment, hard work, and the willingness to change are not enough to make a marriage work. But the biggest shift hasn’t just been in my marriage. It’s been in me.I’m questioning—and releasing—some of the hard principles I once held around marriage, motherhood, womanhood, homeschooling, work, and what it means to be a “good” woman.I was once adamant that motherhood belonged at the center of a woman’s life. I believed deeply in homeschooling and unschooling. I believed that almost any marriage could be saved if a woman worked hard enough, communicated well enough, loved deeply enough, and gave her husband the opportunity to meet her there.I don’t believe those things the way I once did.And strangely, that doesn’t feel like failure. It feels like becoming more honest. This episode is a conversation about divorce, identity, motherhood, intuition, spirit, energy, authenticity, and what happens when the life you thought you were supposed to want no longer fits. This is the reboot of the podcast. And, in a lot of ways, it’s a reboot of me.Welcome back to Whole Woman Awakening. If you are interested in the Seen Sessions launching 9/25 and culminating in an in-person retreat and portrait shoot in Austin, TX 10/23/2026, here is a link for more info. To truly know your man’s love… you have to understand this first.
So many women feel disconnected or unloved in their marriage—not because love isn’t there, but because they don’t recognize how it’s being expressed.
In this episode, I share a powerful perspective shift that’s been transforming the way I experience my own marriage. We talk about how focusing on what’s “wrong” creates distance, how to begin seeing your partner differently, and why so many relationship struggles are rooted in perception rather than reality.
I also open up about learning to speak from the heart instead of from hurt, the role of self-love in creating a connected marriage, and why healthy boundaries are actually an expression of love.
This is an invitation to soften, to reflect, and to see your relationship through a new lens.
Plus, a glimpse into what’s coming next as we begin a new series on motherhood, identity, and coming home to yourself.
If this resonated, share it with a friend or leave a review—it helps this message reach more women 🤍

What if the kind of pleasure you’ve experienced so far… isn’t the full picture?
In this episode, we’re going deeper—into a conversation most women were never taught to have, and rarely shown how to explore.
This isn’t about performance or pressure. It’s about reconnecting to your body, rebuilding sensitivity, and learning how to feel safe enough to experience more.
I share how deeper, internal pleasure is something that can be developed over time through presence, awareness, and intentional practice—not something reserved for a “lucky few.”
We talk about:
• Why so many women feel disconnected during intimacy
• How to begin retraining your brain-body connection
• Simple, daily practices to increase sensitivity and awareness
• The role of safety, surrender, and trust in deeper experiences
• Understanding internal pleasure and how to explore it
• Why emotional release can be part of true body connection
This conversation is for the woman who senses there’s more available to her… and is ready to begin exploring that, gently and on her own terms.
Resources mentioned in this episode are linked in the show notes.
If this resonates, share it with a woman who’s ready to feel more connected, more alive, and more at home in her body.

What does it actually look like to grow inside a long-term marriage?
Not just staying together—but evolving… separately and together.
In this conversation, Heidi shares her journey from victimhood to personal sovereignty—and how that inner transformation reshaped her marriage over 30+ years.
We talk about the kind of growth that can’t be forced, what it means to be supported even when your partner doesn’t fully understand your path, and how true intimacy begins with your relationship to yourself.
This isn’t a typical conversation about marriage. It’s honest, expansive, and an invitation to see your relationship—and yourself—differently.

We thought our marriage was “good”… until we discovered what was missing.
In this episode, my husband and I share how deepening our intimacy transformed our connection, our communication, and our entire relationship—and why this is available to more couples than you think.
We talk about what was missing, what shifted, and what it actually looks like to build deeper intimacy—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.
This conversation is honest, personal, and rooted in the belief that this level of connection is available to more couples than we’ve been led to believe.
If you desire a relationship that feels deeply fulfilling and fully connected—this episode will expand what you think is possible.
Next week, we continue this conversation with a guest who shares her journey into deeper intimacy and healing within marriage.

In this episode of A Heart Called Home to Your Marriage, we begin a deeper conversation about intimacy—starting with the relationship you have with your own body.
Most women were never taught how to truly feel…
how to access deeper pleasure…
or how to experience real connection within themselves.
So we settle for what we think is normal.
Disconnection.
Being in our heads.
Surface-level intimacy that never quite fulfills.
But there is so much more available.
In this episode, I share:
* Why so many women feel disconnected from their bodies
* The deeper reason intimacy often feels limited or unfulfilling
* What it means to feel safe enough to soften and open
* How reconnecting with your body changes your experience of intimacy
* Simple, grounded ways to begin that process
This is the foundation for everything that follows—because before we can create deep, connected intimacy in marriage, we have to come home to ourselves first.
If you’ve ever felt like there must be more…
you’re right.

If your marriage feels a little distant lately… this is for you.
Not because something is broken—
but because connection isn’t something that maintains itself.
In this episode, I’m sharing the real reason couples slowly drift apart…
and the simple, intentional shifts that bring connection back to life.
We’re talking about:
- Why connection is something you *build*, not something you “have”
- The biggest mistake couples make with “quality time”
- Small daily shifts that completely change your dynamic
- How to bring more fun, play, and ease back into your relationship
- And the most powerful (and often overlooked) way to create deep connection
This isn’t about adding more pressure to your life.
It’s about remembering what actually makes a relationship feel alive again.
✨ And next week—we’re going deeper into the most intimate and transformative piece of connection.

You made the decision to stay.
But now you’re here… and your relationship still doesn’t feel the way you hoped it would.
No one really talks about this part—the part where you’ve chosen your marriage, but you still feel disconnected, hurt, or unsure how to actually rebuild what’s been broken.
In this episode, we’re getting into the real work of repair.
Not fixing him.
Not over-giving.
Not trying to control the outcome.
But learning how to soften… how to take responsibility for your side… and how to create the kind of connection you deeply desire.
We talk about:
Why choosing to stay is just the beginning
What women are truly craving in relationships
The shift from hardness to softness (and why it matters)
Letting go of the “list” of wrongs
Over-giving and how it quietly creates resentment
Becoming a woman who receives (and why that changes everything)
How to begin rebuilding connection—without losing yourself
If you desire a deeply connected, romantic, secure relationship… this episode will meet you right where you are.

There’s a quiet place so many women find themselves in marriage…
You’re not fully in—but you’re not ready to leave either.
So you keep showing up, but your heart is guarded.
You try, but you’re also keeping score.
You love—but with one foot out the door.
I call this living in “maybe.”
And while it might feel like a safe place to land… it’s actually the very thing keeping your relationship stuck.
In this episode, I’m walking you through what it looks like to:
Recognize when you’re living in “maybe”
Get honest about what you truly need in a relationship
Take responsibility for your side of the dynamic (without taking on his)
Understand the patterns that keep you stuck
And begin moving toward real repair—starting with a clear decision
This isn’t about being perfect or fixing everything overnight.
It’s about deciding what you want…
and showing up differently from that place.
