From Chris Farley to Lolita Davidovich and many other actors in between, I've been compared to a lot of people. And, I didn't always dig it because my immediate knee jerk gut reaction was to take it as an insult instead of a compliment. Over the years, I've learned that the comparison wasn't an insult but perhaps a way to build familiarity and trust. I mean, after all, I did compare a classmate with my beloved childhood Pomeranian, Matthew and I meant it with nothing but pawsitivity.

Boobs. They were not only the mark of unwanted womanhood growing up, they were the bane of my existence. Bras. They were nothing short of the devil's spawn. Now, I'm just preventing my boobs from hanging low and I'm using my bras to pad my podcasting studio (aka my closet).

Today I'm talking with SPECIAL GUEST and SPECIAL BOYFRIEND, Harry !!! We are talking about body confidence from Harry's perspective and telling tales about our favorite comfort food from Northern India to the Bayou by way of the Big Apple. 

Ah, High School. After years of trying to figure out a way to fit in, to even be "good enough" to be on a team or in a club so I could find "my group", I learned senior year that I could carve my own path by being my school's first* female mascot - The Episcopal Knight. 

*There may be some room for debate but I'm 99.99% sure of it. Geaux Knights!

In today's episode I talk about the healthier foods I sub for less  than healthy foods. And, I learned that like actual substitute  teachers, substitute foods can become "the real thing" instead of merely  being almost as good as the real thing. Because, they're better for  you: body, mind and spirit.

In today's episode I talk about the foods that I won't ever give up and foods that I will. I don't believe giving up food should be seen as a punishment. I think Rick Astley would agree that it's more about how you're gonna feel when you DO give up certain things instead of completely banning certain things from your diet's repertoire. One of the many foods I "gave up" on my health quest includes ketchup and it wasn't just because of the hidden added sugar...

I was a smoker for nearly half of my life. Not proud of it. But, I'm proud that I quit. I tell tales about how I started, how I stopped and how my "non-traditional" parents reacted to it.

Doberge Cake pronounced "DOUGH-BAHHHHSH" is my favorite confection in the whole world. Hailing from South Louisiana, there is really nothing quite like it. It's more than just a "cheat day food", it's my sweet soul mate. I'm telling tales here of many of my run-ins with a cake that must stay cold in one of the hottest states in the nation. This episode is in honor of my late Poppee Earl Olivier's birthday (April 2nd) who also loved Doberge cake.

I booked my role of a lifetime : Trixie in the Rocky Horror Show only to nearly talk myself out of my excitement and worthiness of booking the role. Instead of allowing myself to be grateful and proud, I constantly question, "Do I deserve this?" All the while wearing a gold snake chain between my boobs.
