The Mishnah and the New Testament are two Jewish writings from the same Jewish world. An example is how King Agrippa shows up in both. The Mishnah give us further information about this man who spoke with the Apostle Paul and was almost persuaded to become a Christian. Izzy also talks about the terms "Christian" and "Messianic" - how one comes from Western Graeco-Roman Christianity, and the other comes from Eastern Hebrew-Aramaic Christianity, and how neither term was how we primarily self-identified anyway. This is a takeaway from our newest Mishnah Snapshots study.
