In today’s episode I spoke with UK horror journalist Kat Hughes. In this episode we talked about how she got into watching horror at a very young age and also how she got into horror journalism. She revealed the tradition she has with her husband that surrounds a yearly rewatch of The Mist and how she’s introducing her daughter to horror. On this week’s episode I got to speak with actor and filmmaker Amanda Jane Stern. She is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker whose film ‘Perfectly Good Moment’ was recently released on Tubi and we talk about how she came to horror later in life, what inspired her to write the script for Perfectly Good Moment, and what her favorite subgenre is. In this week’s episode, I talked with chef Jay Reifel about how he got his start in Hollywood where he wrote space action and horror movies, and then pivoted to being a chef in New York City. Recently he released a book called “A History of the World in 10 Dinners” and we talked about a couple of the most horrifying ones including one called The Dinner From Hell and one that includes a mythic creature from the Tudor era. Jay told me how he fell in love with horror and why he appreciates movies like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Cannibal Holocaust.

In this conversation with writer/director Michael Felker, he tells me where the idea came from for Things Will Be Different, what he learned editing Benson and Moorehead’s films that he brought with him into his directorial debut, and what aspects of him and his sister’s relationship are embedded in the main characters of Adam and Riley.
