The EPA was created in 1970. Its fundamental charge was the protection of man and the environment from unreasonable risks from pesticides. As a part of this, the EPA was responsible for protecting pollinators and what is commonly referred to as the bee hazard warning. For the first 20 years of the EPA’s existence, the label was the law. In the subsequent 20 years, the EPA has failed increasingly to see that the laws are honored and enforced with the respect to pollinators.
