What’s up guys! Stoked to have Carlos on. I’ve known Carlos for a while and he has one of the most inspiring stories on what brought him to MMA and how it’s transformed his life: from growing up in So-cal in the street life and even doing some time behind bars , to becoming a business owner, and pro MMA fighter. 

Was stoked to have Will Esparza on the podcast recently. He founded and owns the House of Dragons gym, and has done  a lot of work in the fight community on social media, through fighter management, coaching, and a lot more. He's had a really interesting fight story, which started at a young age when he was diagnosed with a life threatening heart condition and was told that he'd be dead by 24 if he kept training. 

Now, Will is a professional fighter with an upcoming fight on Karate Combat. He owns multiple businesses, and has a great perspective on how mindset plays a role in your fight career.

In today's podcast, I'm hopping on in a guest role as I cover everything that's happened to me over the past 15 months. 

Last year, my fight career came abruptly to a halt after the best year in my career. From a serious concussion that left me with debilitating headaches and mood swings, to feet injuries that made it painful to walk for upwards of a year, it's been a long hard road back to training. The journey has been more difficult than I ever imagined, but I'm happy to share that I'm healed and back  in the ring. 

Fighting isn't just all about the show lights and glory: there are very real consequences that can happen and that many fighters have to go through. This video is for anyone who has or will go through similar struggles in their career.

Imagine only fighting for 3 years, then winning an IFMA gold medal (while never losing a single round) as a walk-on competitor. 

For the years I’ve know Meg, I’ve watched her rise in this sport so much faster than people usually do. From the beginning she’s been relentless: When people wouldn’t book her for fights at the beginning of her career, she would do all the dirty work of networking and matchmaking on her own. She’s the only female fighter out of Woodenman Muay Thai, where she trains with some of the best the world. 

In the last few weeks, she’s put herself on the map by winning a gold medal at IFMA— despite the fact that she was a walk-on competitor and arguably the biggest underdog in her entire bracket. Not only did she win gold, but she never lost a single round the entire tournament. Straight out of a Rocky movie. 

Not only is Meg a hard working and ambitious fighter, but she also balances a career at Google and has even managed to buy and renovate a house in the last couple of years. 

What's up guys! In the first episode of Who's Who I wanted to introduce you to my girlfriend, Kennedy. She's been involved quite a bit in my social media and fight journey, but is usually the one behind the camera. I've had a lot of questions in the past about what it's like being in a relationship as a fighter, so I thought having her on would be an interesting discussion.

Kennedy and I moved to Thailand this year each for our own reasons, and I wanted to chop it up with her and discuss her journey.
