At Christmas, we celebrate the arrival of peace on earth—but whose peace are we really talking about?

In Week 1 of our Christmas series, Joy to Your World, we explore how Jesus redefines peace in a world that believed it already had it. While the world offers peace based on control, comfort, and circumstances, Jesus offers a peace that is deeper, stronger, and unshakable.

Through Luke 2:1–14, we see peace declared to a world under Roman rule that claimed stability. In John 14:27, Jesus promises a peace unlike anything the world can give. And in Philippians 4:6–7, we’re reminded that God’s peace guards our hearts and minds—even in uncertainty.

This message invites us to reflect on a powerful truth:

If joy is the song, then peace is the silence that allows it to be heard.
