The Help Me Leverage Podcast

Why a Podcast Might Be Better For Your Business Than A Book

Listen Later

Anyone in the business of selling their expertise knows that writing a book is a great way to build your reputation and authority.
A published book establishes your credibility as an expert and separates you from the rest in your industry. It also increases your chances of being invited as a guest speaker to industry events.
For all the advantages a book has though, it may be better for you to launch a podcast instead. The list is outlined below but listen to the full podcast for more details,
1 - A podcast is easier to start
2 - It's easier to speak and talk about your expertise than it is to write
3 - A podcast is quicker to publish
4 - There are more opportunities to 'launch' a podcast
5 - A podcast is more responsive to what's going on in the marketplace
6 - Podcasts are a great way to establish relationships
7 - People 'subscribe' to podcasts but don't subscribe to books
8 - Podcasts are syndicated to multiple platforms
9 - A podcast can be leveraged into a book
Of course if you can do both a podcast and a book, which you can do if you follow reason #9, then you can get the best of both worlds.
