Gary Shields calls this a “normalization year” and thinks the market can continue to move higher driven by AI. He doesn’t see any underlying signals threatening the rally, citing factors like liquidity, strong balance sheets and strong earnings. He argues that AI is structural, not cyclical, and the difference between this and other cycles like the dot-com bubble is that AI companies are actually making money.
