John Stott, once ranked by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world (2005), argues that “Evangelical Christianity" is the real Christianity. It is authentic, true, original, and pure. Because the Church is “the pillar and foundation of the truth” (1 Tim 3:15), our calling is to hold it firm so that it is not moved, and hold it high so that all may see it. However hostile the spirit of this present evil age (Gal 1:4) may be (towards an outspoken statement of biblical truth), the Church has no freedom to reject its God-given task.
