Our culture encourages victimization. The first step to victimhood is being offended. Taking offense is a learned mindset in which we abandon all pretense of understanding and learning. We become so rooted in our belief systems that we are incapable of hearing differing ideas or thoughts outside our own voices and the echo chamber in which we live in. The result of this mindset is we give away our power to influence and effect change personally. Eventually the world tunes you out!
