Why Are You So Special You CAN'T Create Your Life?
- I want you to know that everything in your reality right now, your work, your school, your campus, you apartment complex or your home, your car or your train are in your life because SOMEBODY had a vision, an idea, and then they created it.
- I want you to know that you get to run in that race because somebody wanted to put on a community event and they worked hard at it, and spent a lot of time and energy making it come to existence
- “If Walt Disney could not envision something that wasn’t there physically, if he couldn’t see that, if he never wrote it down, I wouldn’t be interning at Disney World”.
- I want you to know this. Because silly KNOWING this will give you power. If you know right now, that when you get close to doing something, there is a part inside of you that will do EVERYTHING IT CAN to get you to procrastinate or not do it.
- The closer something is, the more “fear” will pay you a visit. But what is that fear? It’s a thought that enters your mind!!
- So if application season comes up, if you know right now that the closer it gets to the deadline, be watchful of how you resist taking action. Practicing. Writing the essays. Whatever it is.
- Think of somebody you admire, who is in a relationship you admire.
- Now maybe think of someone running a business the way you want to run a business.
- Now think of someone who has a personal goal that you would, maybe it is there confidence, or their athletic habit, or their job, or the way they show up.
- Are they on a pedestal in your mind?
- Are you letting yourself off the hook by giving them special powers?
