Coming back from a holiday weekend & we're slinging HEAT! Josh English is our guest this week. His band, Six Going On Seven, is a standout band of the late 90's-early 00's scene. With a sound that leaned more on the influence of power pop & strong "power trio" melodies, they distinguished themselves from many of their peers with timeless songs.

Our 75th episode is pretty damn good one if we do say so ourselves! Norman Brannon is name very familiar if you've been listening to the podcast for any amount of time. In addition to being a member of CRUCIAL bands like Texas Is The Reason & Shelter, he's also responsible for the massively influence Anti-Matter Zine (whose comp gave the world one of the finest songs Quicksand ever blessed our ears with). This conversation is a really special one to us & we hope you enjoy it.
Are you ready for a great conversation with a great dude? Well, good...because that's what you're getting! Our guest this week is someone who's name has popped up in multiple episodes as a crucial piece to Gameface, Errortype:11, Instruction, etc. Steven Sanderson is one of the best drummers to grace punk rock, post hardcore, and all points in between. As it turns out, he's also a lot of fun to talk to. You guys are going to dig this chat! Follow Steven on Instagram: @gamefacerock & @errortype11.
Such an awesome guest this week! Rob Pennington is well known to so many punk rock and hardcore kids from the mid 90's to the early 00's. As a member of Endpoint, they carved a path for the Louisville KY scene that would endure for decades to come. As the frontman for By The Grace Of God, Pennington & his bandmates took a "speak from gut & heart" approach to their lyrics by taking on heavy subject matter (organized religion, politics, corporate greed). Never one to rest, he continued on his career & education path with the same fervor as was evident in his music.
Mom & Dad celebrated 15 years of marriage last week. So, we share some of the things we've learned after being together for nearly 20 years. Life, relationships, having a family...this shit is hard. Do life with someone who makes you laugh.

This week's guest totes quite a resume of influential bands. As a member of Saetia & Errortype:11, you'd think that's enough to cement a legacy. Add Instruction & God Fires Man to the mix...you've got someone with stories to tell. Adam Marino had an incredible journey through music. That journey led to real life, a career change, and a family. As is the case so often, the journey comes back around to music. His latest project, Attempt Survivors, features members of Six Going On Seven, Helmet, The Life & Times, and Big Collapse.

Absolute madness in the Allen house results in THIS EPISODE!!! From the start, we're off course and trying to save this plane from careening into the side of a mountain...do we pull it off? Guess you'll have to listen and find out. Oh, we also talk about AEW Double Or Nothing and some of other fun stuff. Dig it!

This week's episode is a special one as it's someone from Wes's past! Joseph Grillo has been a fixture in post-hardcore/emo/punk rock for several years. His band Garrison left an indelible mark on the emo wave of the late 90's-early 00's through a series of incredible releases and their own distinct sound.

No 2 ways about it. This weekend was doozy! What started out as a gas leak detected in front of the house ended in eating pizza 3 days in a row. That doesn't make sense in writing, but it will when you listen. Hope you're all hanging in there & loving yourselves!

Mom & Dad are back in the saddle again. As life continues to whiz by, they try to make sense of it all. We talk about the toll the pandemic has taken on kids, fighting with mental health & how a cartoon helped Wes realize some things he needed to fix in his relationship with his family. At the end of the day, this episode is exactly what this show has been about since day 1: A family doing their best trying to figure out life. We missed you-we hope you missed us!
