Democrats and the mainstream media have been running a fear campaign against Russia ever since President Trump won the election in November 2016. But for all their bluster over collusion and election meddling, Democrats have not always considered Russia a serious threat. In fact, in 2012, when Mitt Romney said that Russia was the biggest global threat to the United States, President Obama and fellow Democrats ridiculed him for being out of touch and stuck in the past. Yet, just four years later, the Democratic Party is now claiming that Russia is a significant threat to the integrity of our democracy. If Russia was such a threat, why didn’t Democrats act when they were in power? Does their failure to do so undermine the entire narrative they are currently spinning about Trump colluding with Putin in 2016?
