Cody Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre to win the championship on SmackDown… and somehow it felt completely predictable.

On paper this should have been a massive moment. The Road to WrestleMania is supposed to be where things get wild, chaotic, and unpredictable. Instead this episode of SmackDown felt like WWE just went through the motions.

Drew McIntyre finally had the title… and the reign was short. Cody Rhodes wins it back… and the next thing staring us in the face is the most obvious match possible with Randy Orton.

Nothing about this show felt surprising.

Nothing felt dangerous.

Everything felt like it was written exactly how you expected it to go.
