Why Don’t Best Practices take root? Why do they disappear once Consultants Leave?

  1. Many of today’s workers are no longer motivated with Corporations’ Mission Statement, if it does not address their purpose (Ikigai)
  2. Corporations might be better off declaring a ‘Noble Purpose’ instead.
  3. Noble Purpose is defined as “Making Life of the Customers Better, while not harming anything else”
  4. Most consultants can showcase initial improvements by going to the floor and asking workers for help. Hawthorne Effect = Most people help when you ask them for help.
  5. However, all Consulting exercises that DO NOT make real changes to change Upper and Lower Control Limits , will see the system returning to Set Point 60-90 days after consultants leave.
  6. Hence Initial improvements showcased do not take root, they remain short lived!
