Hey folks – welcome to 2019! We made it through December, and January so far feels a lot like spring. We can do this!
Last Sunday we spent some time looking back at 2018 and considering what it is that we might both feel thankful for and express or enact gratitude for. It was fascinating to me (it always is) to hear people talk about what they feel they are learning and who is journeying with them in that process. I arrived at that gathering feeling a bit “strung out” and tired and left feeling refreshed and renewed. I’m grateful for this community and for our shared experiences.
This Sunday we’re going to look the other direction – forward. In the Talky Bit I’ll be focusing on why it matters to participate in the “community of exploration” we share at The Table. I think it’s both a privilege and an essential choice to be people that notice what is going in on in the world around us and deliberately ask “what does that mean?”, and to do that work in the company of others. Let’s see if I can make a convincing case for us proceeding together in that way.
We’ll be meeting at Creative Manitoba. We’ll drink coffee (or whatever), talk with and listen to one another, think, wrangle kids, and just generally share a slice of life together. Kids Table will be on. It’ll be good.
I’ll see you on Sunday.
Peace,
