Advent reminds us that God keeps His promises and brings hope into every situation. As we remember the prophets’ words and look to Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s plan, we’re invited to trust Him in our own moments of uncertainty. Just as God met Mary and Joseph where they were, He meets us today with His presence, His peace, and His hope. Message based on Matthew 5:17-20
Quotes:
Dietrich Bonhoeffer: The celebration of Advent is possible only to those who are troubled in soul, who know themselves to be poor and imperfect, and who look forward to something greater to come.
Os Guinness: Rebellion against God does not begin with the clenched fist of the atheist, but the self-satisfied heart of the one who for whom saying "Thank you" is redundant.
Emily Dickinson: "Hope" is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul - And sings the tune without the words - And never stops - at all - And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard - And sore must be the storm - That could abash the little Bird That kept so many warm I've heard it in the chilliest land - And on the strangest Sea - Yet - never - in Extremity, It asked a crumb - of me. This is our hope. This is our only hope.
