Recently I had a plan, and my body believed in it. I could think clearly, I could move, I had traction. And then life shifted, an unexpected passing, and my schedule fell apart, and somewhere in the middle of all of it, I noticed I wasn't moving anymore.
In the way where you're upright, answering messages, probably even laughing occasionally, but the needle isn't moving, and you genuinely cannot explain why. You make the list, but the list just sits there. You open the drawer and close it again. The urgency buzzes in your chest, but your body will not respond.
This is your nervous system doing math.
In this episode, I'm talking about the calculation your body is running in the background all day, what you have versus what this moment requires, and what happens when that gap gets too wide. Because what most of us call laziness, avoidance, or failure to follow through is actually something much more specific. And once you understand what it actually is, everything about how you relate to it changes.
This one is personal. I'm in it right now. And you might be too.
If this gives language to something you've been living, share it with someone who needs to hear it, because I promise they're blaming themselves for something that has a much better explanation. And if you want to go deeper than just understanding it, and work with your nervous system instead of against it, join me inside the Journeys With My Body or the Pocket Resets for Stress Community.
