Why People Stay Scared Even After Tragedies

참사 이후에도 여전히 공포를 느끼는 이유

Even after a tragedy， people can still have an elevated sense of risk. If a flood， an earthquake， a violent crime or a terrorist attack has occurred in the recent past， people tend to have a feeling of vulnerability， captured in the obsession that “you can`t be safe anywhere.” Often that feeling is *far greater than reality warrants.

심지어 참사를 겪고 난 이후에도， 사람들은 여전히 위험에 더욱 민감해진다. 만약 최근 홍수， 지진， 폭력범죄， 혹은 테러공격과 같은 일이 일어났다면， 사람들은 “자신이 그 어디에서도 안전할 수 없다”는 강박관념에 사로잡혀， 자신이 취약하다는 느낌을 지니는 경향이 있다. 종종 그러한 기분은 현실적인 가능성보다 훨씬 더 클 수 있다.
